Teams Competition

500m High Country Salmon Team catching up after the race.

You can race for yourself and as part of a team. When you enter, simply select if you’re swimming solo or lining up with your crew.

types of teams

  • Social teams – All about fun, friendship, and giving it a go. Gather your workplace buddies, swim club mates, or group of friends and take on any event together.
  • Performance teams – Serious speed and bragging rights are on the line. Perfect for club rivalries or anyone chasing the title of fastest team in the lake.

How it works:

  • All team members must swim the same distance. Your workplace or club can have multiple teams across different distances.
  • When you register make sure everyone enters the team name identically.
  • A team needs a minimum of 3 swimmers.
  • The fastest 3 times in your team are averaged to determine your result (Performance Team)
  • There is no extra entry fee. Everyone enters individually, and your results automatically count towards your team.

So, rally your squad, lock in a name, and dive in – because Swim Ruataniwha isn’t just about individual glory, it’s about team pride too!
